Tria Beauty: Laser Precision

It’s bikini season once again, which means that it’s time to give some serious thought to effective, long-lasting hair-removal options.

Wax On, Wax Off: Waxing can remove unwanted hair for about 4-6 weeks. A thin layer of wax is applied to the skin along with a strip of fabric (usually muslin), then, with a pull and a prayer, the fabric, wax, and hair disappear in one fell swoop. Waxing can be a good hair-removal option if you’re going away on an extended tropical vacation. It will leave the skin smooth and hair-free, plus hair removal will be one less thing you have to think about while you’re sipping umbrella-laden drinks by the pool.

Laser Lights: Laser hair removal puts an end to unwanted hair once and for all. At one point the procedure could only be performed by a trained professional, but now the technology has come home. Tria Beauty offers the Hair Removal Laser, which boasts permanent results that are equal to in-office treatments. Simply move the laser over the skin in one continuous motion until you’ve treated the entire surface of the desired area. After about six months of continuous treatment, the follicles disabled by the Tria laser will no longer grow hair.

The Old-Fashioned Way: Razors are always an option for a quick, last-minute pool party invitation. The hair is simply cut from the surface of the skin and you can expect to see noticeable hair regowth in about 2-3 days. To avoid nicks and cuts, remember to keep the skin hydrated with a good shaving foam or lotion, and always shave slowly. Bandages and Band-Aids are definitely not the fashion accessories you want to showcase this season.
